Side Flame vs. Top Flame Lighters
Posted on: 05/23/2010 01:51 AM
Hey everyone,

Looking into a new lighter. I have seen alot of nice side flame (pistol grip) styles, but have no experience with them. Any opinions? Any recomendations?

Thanks

A popular lighter that gets a lot of kudos is the Ronson Butane lighter which is $3 at Walmart. I prefer a soft flame lighter because of it's heat...it's a lighter that will not overheat your cigar when lighting them as a torch will tend to do. Slowly lighting a cigar where the flame never touches the foot is the proper lighting method most cigar smokers prefer. It helps to ensure that your cigar does not get overheated thus making ones cigar taste and smoke even better.

You don't have to spend a lot on a lighter but the ones with the best warranty is where I would start looking...lifetime warranty will save you money in the long run.
